Pilates

Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise that helps to improve posture, muscle tone, balance and joint mobility, as well as relieve stress and tension.

Pilates is a form of exercise which concentrates on strengthening the body with an emphasis on core strength. This helps to improve general fitness and overall well-being.

Similar to Yoga, Pilates concentrates on posture, balance and flexibility. In Pilates the chance of injury is much lower than with other more strenuous forms of exercise. This is true for elite athletes, including dancers, who use it to complement their training to maintain whole body strength and flexibility. Pilates also focuses on the mind-body connection. While doing the various exercises your mind needs to be constantly aware of your breathing and the way your body moves.

By working with small classes or individuals in one to one sessions, I can focus on developing the best practice for you, your lifestyle and any limitations you may have.

Hafrenfren Yoga & Pilates hold regular Pilates classes at 20 Bethel Street, Llanidloes, Llanidloes SY18 6BS.

These take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at  10.15am  and 11.30am each week.

One to one Pilates Sessions

Pilates session one to one with Lisa today. Have regular online sessions, which are excellent and Lisa’s observations even on Skype are exceptional, but the one to one really “tuned in ” on my problems and difficulties. Such a difference afterwards, felt more balanced and movement and posture definitely improved. Having Lisa able to focus in on the finer points of my movement control, and balance, and having her present and able to correct where needed was definitely worth it.
